Laggy video, Sony Vegas HD
I’m having trouble with render a movie…
The movie is about 30min long and is 1920×1080; 25,000. I have done some editing, but no effects or other stuff.
The problem is that after rendering the movie, the output is very laggy after a few mins playback. (Both audio and video)
I have tried different settings, but think “AVCHD 1920×1080-50i” should work..
I use Sony Vegas HD 11 and my computer has 8GB ram, and a 8core 3.4 GHz processor.
When I monitor the resource use during rendering, the processor is used 50%-90%, while about 5GB of ram is used.What could be wrong? Settings? Sw? Hw?
Will it help to buy Vegas Pro? -

What are you playing the video on, your computer? If so, are you using Windows Media Player? Are you playing the video full screen? Does it play any differently when not having the player maximized? Have you tried creating a Blu Ray and see how it plays on a set-top player? Have you tried playing the clip back on another computer?
I’ve seen this happen on quite a few computer systems, and it’s usually the system is being over-taxed while playing the video, hence the laggyness. If your computer has its resources being used by other programs it can cause playback issues.

I have tried both Windows Media Player and VLC. Both play the first 2 mins, then there is some lagging, before the vido freez. (The audio continues..)
If I move the slider to the first minute, the playback starts again.
Same behavior when I play in full screen and in a small screen.
I’m not able to test another computer right now, but I will try to do that.
I now tried a BlueRay-render-type (m2v), the playback was perfect, but no sound.. Good news??

So if the BluRay played fine, then your computer isn’t powerful enough to play the clip smoothly.
