l recorded with very low volume….
hey there
l recorded a video of a wedding with a very low volume set. (my fault) almost nothing can be heard. You can hear a little but the volume has to be set all the way up. l need to add other soundtracks to the video. l imagine will be a jump in and out of sound because of it.
Is there a way to improve the sound form the original footage??

Right-click the audio event and select Switches | Normalize. That should bring up the volume considerably if it’s very low.

You could also boost the sound using the graphic equaliser plug-in by up to 20db… . I recently had to do this when my sound feed from the sound desk was just a hiss and I had to rely on camera mic audio only.

I assume you are using SVP9:
Right click the event audio wave form you are trying to improve.
Select Apply non-real time event FX
Choose Audio > Sony > ExpressFX Graphic EQ or Graphic EQHave a play around, noting that there is also an output gain slider. Experiment.
If you are using SVP10, this is available in real-time.
You can do it at track level as well, but it affects the whole track. In my case, I only needed it for certain video events.
