    Hi all,
I just joined this awesome community. I’m relatively young as an engineer, so you’re going to read me a lot now that i discovered you 🙂

This is my problem at the moment. I got my hands on a Nanokontrol 2, and i’m trying to make it work with Pro Tools 10 (i’m on a mac). Already asked to the Korg support, wich proved to be useless (answer -in German-: use it as a HUI interface, holding down two bottons and plugging-in… Doesn’t work). I have the most recent drivers, i have the Korg Editor, i’ve been following several tutorials on the web but they all refer to Nanokontrol 1, wich appear to different from the 2 in this case…

I don’t want to give this up but i’m really stuck. Pro tools would not recognize the NanoK; if I set it as a M-audio Keyboard (i’ve read in a post by Peter Groom this is part of the solution) something will move, but it’ll give me an error after a second. Could you give me an hand with this?

    Thanks,

    The Lobster

    Hi Luca

    Well welcome to the club.
I was sent a Nonokontrol 2 to have a play with ages ago. Spent ages getting it to interface with my pt10 on a pc. Far from intuitive, and when it did work i found it next to useless. Only basic fader functions worked, and using it with automation was 100% a waste of time. It didnt know where the pt fader position was, so touching it made pt jump to the nano position. My mix was a mess in seconds, so I gave it up.
Worst was there was NO online help.
I did find a couple of youtube videos which had success but they were for pt 8 and 10 is different.

Then pro tools lost contact with the Nanokontrol and I couldnt get it back. Spent hours again doing as Id done before with NO success.

My Nanokontrol will be heading towards ebay any day now (youve reminded me the useless bit of plastic is still taking up space), which is where i suspect yours will end up too.
NB If youve an IPAD then stop wasting your time (that you want to spend in pro tools) and but Neyrincks V control. Dead cheap, works brilliantly in Pro Tools and AVID , FCP etc etc. No competition.

NB If you do make it work youve got more patience than me.

    Cheers
    Peter

Whaaaaat a waste of money… -_- at least it was cheap. Did i say cheap? Ehm…. Unexpansive.

    Thanks a lot,
