Kona3 and XDCAM EX3 not working?

I am new to this forum and I always get lots of useful information and Thank you so much.
I have 8 core MAC PRO with Kona 3 installed.
Also XDCAM EX3 and USB card reader for XDCAM.
So I take a video using XDCAM and using the USB card reader, I transfer the clip in to the FCP using XDCAM transfer software.
And in the sequence setting, FCP recommend me to use XDCAM HD codec since the clips are recorded with that codec. And while I am editting the video, I do not feel like the Kona 3 is doing anything.
Is there anyway to use Kona 3 in editting? Maybe I need to encode the clip from the XDCAM in to something Kona3 support?

Try the kona3 HDV playback setting.
