  • Kona support for the JVC HD100 24p?

Posted by Tim Baker on September 6, 2005 at 5:33 pm

Is there any plan to have the Kona2 work so that I can take full advantage of the 24p capabilities of the HD100?

Or does it already and it is FCP that is the problem? I just see a lot of posting that says there is a problem editing with the 24p from the HD100 in FCP.

I expect my camera any time now and would like to know what I can and cannot edit with it, as far as frame rates…etc.

    Thanks all.

FCP does not support 24 frame editing in HDV. The kona2 handles everything that FCP can and then some.

So what are all of the Sony 24p users doing that are shooting in 24p?

Are they converting to some other frame rate at or after digitization?

Doesn’t that negate the shooting in 24p or does it still keep that 24p look since you acquire that way?

there is no support for 24 frame HDV content in FCP. for either camera.
Converting the content via Cinema Tools is is nearly unusable.

if you are talking about the pulldown cadence – it is inserted by the camera so you do maintain the look of 24p video.
