I usually edit in NTSC, uploading from a beta sp deck via component with my Kona LHe set to uncompressed 8 bit and from a DVCam deck via SDI with my Kona set to dvcpro50. I use these settings so I have better looking graphics after compressing to mpeg 2 for my final dvd product. I now have a Pal project and only have the ability to upload via firewire or s-video (dsr 11 deck). My question is; am I better off doing a firewire dub to my NTSC deck so I can use the SDI option for uploading or am I better off uploading via firewire and converting in the FCP timeline? The output will be a dvd.

    Thanks – Wayde
