Kona LS sync between viewer and PAL screen
Hi
We have four FCP suites: three Kona LS based systems and one Decklink Extreme. The Decklink Extreme has no delay between the PAL screen and the viewer.
All three Kona LS systems (Two G5 2.0DP’s and one G4 1.42DP) have about a 5 frame difference between the PAL screen and the viewer when playing inside FCP.
-Why?
-Is there a setting that can fix it?Thanks

Playback Offset should be set to 0 in your System Settings.

Walter thanks! I knew about the playback offset, but I thought it was only applicable to firewire output like DV or iO boxes.
Now I realised why I thought so: My first two capture cards were Cinewave and Decklink Extreme, which never had a playback offset issue.
Aja manufactures the iO box, and the playback offset setting must be left over from that software, because it should be set to 0 for the kona LS card…
The decklink card maybe did not have any playback offset error, but I found a much worse hardware bug tonight – more about that on the decklink forum.

And keep in mind, everytime you trash your prefs, you’ll need to reset it to 0. FCP defaults to 4 every time.
