  • Kona LHi & PP CS6 issue: unable to up convert SD to HD when using PPCS6 to log & capture

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue. I never had problems up converting SD to HD footage with my Kona LHi card when using Final CUt Pro 7 to ingest my footage.

But after logging a bunch of clips in Premiere Pro CS6’s Capture Window, I find that none of my footage was unconverted from SD (480i) to HD (720p) even though all my up convert settings appear to be correct on the Kona LHi side.

For anyone who is using Premiere Pro CS6 to ingest their footage, while Kona LHi up converts, what’s the correct procedure? I don’t want to have to relog all my footage again in Final CUt Pro 7. That would take hours of work. I just need the up convert to work when using Premiere Pro CS6 to log footage.

Thank you in advance for any help.

The weird thing is that Premiere Pro’s log and capture window shows the footage as pillar boxed into a 16:9 frame when being ingested. But the resulting ingested clips are exactly the same dimensions as the source footage: 480i. No 720p

I may get an LHI so I am interested in this.

Have you tried using Prelude to ingest?
