I have a Mac Intel – 8 Core running Final Cut Pro 6.0.1. I shoot mainly in Panasonic’s 720/24Np format (HVX200 with P2 cards). I monitor using a consumer LCD HDTV (Magnovox – Innovision). The card is hooked up to a Sony Beta UVW1800 VTR.

I use the SDI2 out of the card – running into a SDI to Component AJA converter – then into the RGB input of the monitor.

I am unable to get a clean signal to the Beta deck – right now all I get is a black and white image – not synced (the image stays at about 10% lower then where it should be).

I am able to see an image on the monitor only when it is in 525i – not 720/59.98.

I just put this system in. I had a G5/FCP 5.1 running a Kona 2 card, with the K-Box. I was able to monitor – right out from the K-Box. I used the SDI to Analog to go to the Beta. Everything worked great in this set-up.

    What am I doing wrong/missing?

Are you downconverting the signal to the beta deck? You need to do that in the Kona Control Panel…set it to 525i.
