Kona LH audio dropout

November 10, 2006 at 6:13 amI just received a Kona LH and dropped it into my Dual 2Ghz G5 (PCI-X)…well, OK, I carefully installed it into my G5. Then I connected HD SDI out to my HD monitor…and it looks great. But when I take the XLR outputs and connect them to the balanced IN ports on my Tascam FW-1082 mixer, and play the timeline, I will get occasional and regular dropouts in audio. The VU meters stay steady, it only happens on the mixer end. I connect the speaker out of the G5 to the mixer and the audio sounds fine…no dropouts.
Anyone experience this…and solve it?

November 10, 2006 at 10:44 pmSO it sounds like it’s a problem with your tascam or your setup.
I just looked at the Tascam and it appears those XLR inputs are mic level. Could that be your problem? if you hook up your KOna card to anything else (like a deck), do you still get the same dropouts?
Are you sure you have hooked up the analog outputs and not the digital?
Most recent drivers/firmware from the AJA site?

November 12, 2006 at 3:16 amI’ll look again. I am currently working 12 hours 6 days a week so I have little time to devote to my home system. But those are all good things to check out.
Thanks,
Shane
