  • KONA, FCP and audio monitoring issues?

Posted by Jamie Nabers on December 13, 2006 at 12:42 am

    hey team,

i just assembled my new edit suite today. My issue is, I cannot get the RCA audio monitoring outputs on the K box to output any audio. I can get audio from my timeline to my deck via the SDI connections, but wont come directly out of the K box. I am viewing component out of the k box to my monitor. is this an FCP issue or a kona problem?

    My set up:
    G5 quad 3.0 intels
    kona 3 w/K Box
    ciprico 4210
    FCP 5.1

    any thoughts?

    thanks,

    j

If you have audio via SDI then you should have it via RCA. All outputs are hot.

    Aloha Jamie,

Ok this is going to sound dumb, but try taking the DVI cable that is used to connect the K-Box to the card and reverse it (attach the end that is now on the computer to the K-Box and vice versa). I recall having the same issue and this fixed it.
