Kona 3/LS RS422 problem with Sony A500p
Hi,
We have to setups .One with KonaLS with K-box and another is Kona 3 with Kbox.
We are trying to control the Digibeta A500p deck through RS422 control connected with K-Box but both the setups cannot communicate with deck.But stangely Kona LS setup can communicate with a DVCPRO deck.
More strangely our another Decklink setup can communicate with our digibeta deck.That means deck is okay.
Tried changing cables, changing setup from device control…But no solution.

Harcharan,
you have multiple systems. Are you using a RS422 patch bay, or AB boxes to connect to the A500p, or is direct connect. When you purchased the AJA, it came with a breakout cable – use the breakout cable to test each system that is not working – DO NOT USE THE K Box for these tests. I know that it might mean picking up the A500 and sitting it near the computer.
Also, for these tests, STOP using Final Cut Pro. Download AJA VTR XChange from the AJA website, and use this for your VTR control tests. This will eliminate stupid menu settings inside Final Cut Pro.
