April 14, 2009 at 9:59 amWe have version 6.0.2 and 6.0.3 driver running on the previous version of Intel MAC perfectly happily.
On the new one, however, even after firmware update, 6.0.2 and 6.0.3 both cause the machine to not boot properly. In neither instance is it possible to log on to get rid of the driver so a safe boot is required.
I have installed version 6.0.1 and the machine is fine. If you are using FCP you probably only need 6.0.1 anyway.

Which graphics card?
I am hearing about issues with some Nvdia cards in the new machines.
call Aja tech support- they need to be aware of this…

the problem fix, we reinstall the OS then install the 6.0.3 NDD versions, its come back again. we think the problem is we install the normal 6.0.3 version and haven’t del all the driver files in the system.

April 15, 2009 at 4:09 amIf you cured it using the NDD version of the driver, ten to one you have an Nvidia card.

April 15, 2009 at 4:13 amThis is with a Radeon HD 2600. Different, but repeatable problems. I will inform AJA support.

April 18, 2009 at 10:42 amWe have a similar problem with 3 new MacPro’s on a clients SAN installation
All have Radeon GFX cards & Apple Fibre Channel cards
Introducing the FC card into the system apparently causes the machine to hang on boot with 6.0.3 or 6.0.2 Kona drivers
I will check the status of the board firmware when I am on site on Monday
We have the machines working with the 6.0.1 NDD diver, is there any difference between the firmware included with this driver and the later releases?
Can’t find anything on AJA’s website about compatibility with the current MacPro hardware – there clearly are some problems!

April 20, 2009 at 11:57 amI was recommended by Kona to use the 6.0.3 NDD package. Although this is usually used with NVidia cards, it works fine with the Radeon HD and doesn’t cause the boot problems.
