go to Applications > AJA utilities > AJA Kona Firmware update and update the firmware on the Kona card – it is not an automatic process.

    1)remove card

    2) uninstall your AJA drivers (AJA Utilities folder).

    3) put the card in a DIFFERENT SLOT (and if you have other cards in your new MAC, like a disk drive controller card, or FW card, EVEN IF THOSE ARE WORKING FINE – pull them out !).

    4) fire up your new mac, with your Kona 3 in a different slot (like slot 4, for example). You should have NO AJA drivers in your system, so it won’t see the card, and you should have NO OTHER CARDS in your system, other than your graphics display card.

Does it work now ? If it does, download the AJA software from the AJA website (dont’ use the CD they gave you), and try it again. If it is still freezing up upon boot, you may have a defective card.

    the machine or FCP?

if the machine is freezing something else is wrong.- an error on the card usually causes a kernal panic.

if you cannot boot the computer hold down the shift key so you can boot into “safe mode”

uninstall the aja drivers using the AJA uninstaller

Reinstall using the Kona3 v6.0.3 NDD driver, force quit the installer and then update the firmware on the card using the Firmware UP date utility in Applications > AJA Utilities folder

    Thanks all
    I had try following ways.
    1. Put it in different slot, put the card in then install the driver. And also install the driver before put in the card.
    2. install the card, then install the drive in the safe mode.
    3. Reinstasll the OS repeat the previous step.
The resault still the same. But when I put the kona back to my old 8 core everythings is fine !

    Many thanks

AT what point did you install the firmware update on the card as I told.

IT is NOT part of the driver install

IT is REQUIRED that you update the FIRMWARE SEPARATELY from the DRIVER.
