Kona 3 running on Win7 PC (PP CS6.02) sometimes audio from analog out on break box, sometimes not
I am using a Kona 3 with break out box running the most recent drivers.
It is on an HP Z820 PC running Win 7 SP1. I take the 2 analog audio outs of the BO box and feed it to a speaker preamp. I have used this approach over the years with FCP and now PP. It recently (CS6.0) has become unreliable.
The meters in PP indicate a signal. I can take the PC audio out and feed it to the preamp and the audio is great. Sometimes if I reboot the system the audio from the Kona 3 BO box returns, sometimes it doesnt.
I will be calling AJA to pursue this problem.Tom Daigon

No issues here whatsoever with K3 audio out of our Dell PC machine. It was in the beginning of the CS6 run but the latest drivers are handling everything just fine now.

Walter, I am taking the stereo analog feeds out of the front of the Kona 3 break out box and sending that to my speaker preamp. I believe in the past you said you used the embedded audio in the SDI fed to your Flanders monitor and then took the audio out of the monitor audio outputs. That might account for the difference.

Nope. We send the analog feed from our K-Boxes to the Mackie Boards to feed to the audio monitors. No problems with any of the Kona systems, Mac or Win, since the latest drivers came out.
Only the iMac uses the embedded audio out of the FSI route.

I contacted AJA about this issue and this was their response…
At this time, we don’t have AJA Adobe plug-ins for PP CS6.0.2 version. My understanding is that if you click into the PP source window and back to the timeline may fix the audio issue as a workaround. We are expecting the release of the AJA plug-ins very soon.
