I am new to the mac, new to FCP and new to the Kona 3 card I installed yesterday.

PowerMac with Leopard and Kona 5.1 driver.
    Card installed in slot 3.

Worked OK at first then FCP failed to control it – no output going to plasma screen through component except bards then no bars then a computer crash. Not possible to start as it it asks for on boot is a restart. Remove card and it boots up ok. Tried many times now so its now 100 per cent of the time that the boots fail with the card installed.
Has anyone else had this problem or is it just a duff card?
I am in the UK s lets hope I get the same good support that seems to be the case on the other side of the pond.

Also is there a way of using the card to convert a file on disc to a converted file on disc without passing through the input/output breakout box? Example say up convert an SD file on disc to a HD file on disc?
