is this possible. when i try to match up the settings, they just stay greyed out. Was wondering if any of you guys have done or do this on a regular basis. Was figuring i may need some different hardware. Thanks.

If going dual link to SR no, it won’t work.

You mean not have the dual link option enabled or not have the cables hooked up at all? We’re not in dual link. Thanks Jeremy.

Cool. If laying off single link, then keep FCP in your 720p easy setup and set the appropriate SDI output that’s hooked up to your deck in the secondary mode using the Kona control panel.

Then set the video output to 1080i in Fcp in the ‘View’ menu.

    actually yes it will

When you loaded the latest version of the Kona Drivers there is a specific setting to install the cross conversions I am not sure that it is a default anymore.

I stand corrected. It does work. Sorry about the false info.

Mike, for dual link layoff you would go to the AJA Control Panel and right click on the SDI1 output triangle and choose ‘dual link’ from the drop down. Then back in FCP, you’d choose a 1080i 29.97 easy setup that matches your original 720p sequence codec. For example, if you are working in DVCPro HD, then you’d hit control-q and choose the 1080i29.97 DVCPro HD easy setup. Thanks to Gary.

The other option if you plan to keep a 23.98 master would be to output 23.98 to the SR then re-injest at 29.97 with SR doing the frame rate conversion (1080iPD)
