KONA-2 Captured Video/Audio Sync Problems
We are using a KONA 2 card in a Dual 2.5 Mac running OS X 10.3.8 and FCP HD 4.5
We shoot all of our video in DVCPro HD with a Panasonic Varicam set to 720p 60 fps 59.94 hz NDF… We are then using the HDSDI output with embedded audio from a Panasonic 1200A Deck connected to your KONA 2 card to input for capture.
We have been using the KONA2 720p 59.54 DVCPro HD preset in FCP, and we have noticed that we are experiencing an audio sync problem.
We also use this same system to capture from a Digibeta Deck using the SDSDI output connected to the KONA 2 card. When the preset for NTSC 8-bit to DVCPro 50 is used for capture, we are also experiencing a simular problem with the Audio sync being off.
We are using these DVCPro Compressions rather than Uncompressed to conserve drive space.
Is there any settings that we are possibly missing in our setup that would effect the Audio Sync of the captured video? Is there a problem using the embedded audio? Possibly a QT issue? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Have you upgraded to the 1.1.2 driver?

See my thread “Kona 2 Downconvert audio problem” on 9-08-05.
I may have experienced the same problem. I was on FCP 4.5 at first.
When I upgraded to FC Studio and Tiger, things got better.
(Gee, that was only a $1400 fix.)
Check your Mac system preferences– set the sound output to the Kona card.
Also “refresh A/V devices” whenever you change settings in FCP.
Check your audio playback preferences: Kona.
Make sure that the audio offset is set to 0, (not the default 4).

Contact Tech support. It is a QT issue. You will need to update your driver.
