Hi. I’m new to this forum so I hope this isn’t a stupid question. I have some footage shot on the Zi8 in 720p 60fps. When I try to import it into FCP I get an access denied error but not on all footage, just some of it. Anyone have any ideas of why and how to resolve this. They have .mov extensions and the codec is H.264.
    Thanks

Try transcoding it to ProRes instead of working natively in h.264. H.264 is a delivery format not really supported all that well in FCP. Import it all into Compressor, then export it as ProRes using the same frame size and frame rate.

    Jerry,
Once i’ve converted to ProRes, can the 60 fps footage be dropped into a 24fps timeline for slow motion?

You can do this easily in Cinema Tools. All it does is conform the clip to play back at 24 fps, it does not actually convert it so no artifacts. 60fps to 24fps should give you a nice slow mo.

One note of caution, make sure to create copies of your clips you want to change the frame rate of in Cinema Tools. Once you change the clip frame rate it can not be undone.
