Hi, in brief, I have a horizontally scrolling animation I’d like to slow for text reads. Getting the slowdowns is killing me.

When I use two position keyframes to make the float slowly, I get kinks in the graph editor between the two keys. The effect is a visible and ugly bounce. You can see the kink in the curve, and no amount of finessing will get rid of it. Using one key alone and a lot of Keyframe Velocity adjustment would be nice, but it’s not enough of a slowdown for a text read. A hold keyframe would be too much of a stop.

It needs to be a slow float.

Is there a technique I’m missing?

Yes, problem solved, thanks! Animation>Separate Dimensions, then option-command click to add bezier handles.
