Ki Pro mini to Canon 5D mkiii HDMI setup
Hello,
I have a Ki Pro mini I want to setup up to record video and audio through a canon 5d mk iii. I have an HDMI cable running from the back Ki Pro from “HDMI OUT” to the 5D. When I hit record the Ki pro is saying “No Video Input” even though I have video input set to be running through the HDMI. If I switch to the “HDMI IN” input, the recorder will run, but I can not get any image on through the live-view on the 5D…Also is there a way to hit record on the actual camera itself, not the Ki Pro to start and stop recording? For my DSLR rig the Ki Pro is attached to the back of my shoulder and would be a nuisance to start and stop recording that way.
Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Until the firmware update slated for April of 2013 is made available for the Canon 5D Mark III, you will not be able to take full advantage of the HDMI output of the camera. You can learn more about the upcoming Canon firmware update via this press release:
