Keyword collections
Ah so this is quite clever is it not. if I add the entire clip to the keyword collection it gets added in entirety but if I select a range and then add that to the key =word collection it add the entire clip but does seem to remember with white lines the range in and out points. I like that…a lot.
However the shortcut keys do not wok for me…I have to hit the button in the keyword heads up display. Must be something I have to adjust in commands but cannot find it.
Anyone shed any light on this for me please?

In the Final Cut Pro X preferences, look for the check button that controls the function key mapping. (Labled something like “use F1, etc for…) Change that and see if that solves the issue.

Thanks for this..can’t find that in preferences. In the command editor it has control f1 etc as “system reserved” but something must be overriding it.

Okay there are certain system preference shortcuts that must be interfering as they did with next selection and previous selection in auditions.
I have disabled switch to desktop 1 in Mission control shortcuts which is control 1. But control2, 3 and 4 do not work.
In commands interestingly the command was duplicated for keywords so I deleted the duplicates but it made no difference.
Something conflicting or over riding it most annoying of the chaps at Apple I must say.

control 2 thru 4 do not work…but cannot find any Apple built in shortcuts.

Mine is enabled as you see.
It turns off all the OS specific controls (like brightness, volume etc). I have to hold function to use those commands.

Thanks on or off makes no difference to me. Control 2 thru 4 no wormy on my system.
O guess there must be a conflict somewhere but can’t figure it.
How are you liking Override Connections? I absolutely love it!! Bit more like legacy!!

I have the options turned on. This means that f1 acts like an f1 key, not a brightness adjuster.
Funtion-f1 is a brightness key.
Perhaps some commands are locked out of the system, I don’t know.

Absolutely needed and I like them a lot. I don’t need FCPX to be FCP Legend, but I do like this added functionality.

That little voice in my head telling me NOT to reply from my iPad, but to double check my suggestion on my desktop machine instead of relying on my memory was right yet again.
