Keylight Confusion
I am trying to key a shot with Keylight. But when I choose keylight, then choose a color, instead of keying out that color, it makes 90% of the image disapear and the parts that are left are either pink or green. It looks almost like the whole image got inverted.
I know the video can be keyed because when I use normal chroma key it seems to work correctly (but I can’t get it keyed well enough, which is why I want to use Keylight)
Anyone ever have this problem and know what is going on? Thanks

I’ve used Keylight a lot already. I know how to tweak to get the effect I want. But this time it’s just not working correctly. It’s not grabbing the color I select, it’s just making the whole image turn transparent and green. Everything in the image that is dark turns green, and everything lighter goes away completely.

Sounds like you have the “status” mode in Keylight turned on…
I’ve also seen Keylight do some strange things when using masks and presets.
Keylight also has a zillion different tweaks that can be used, such as bias that can help if the green in your background isn’t really all the green. Keylight comes with a PDF the size of “War and Peace” that does a good job of explaining how to use various settings to compensate for some common keying problems.
Another good trick is to follow the “super tight junk matte” tutorial to eliminate as much of your unneeded background as possible.Erik
