Keying Out Hair And Body?
Hi guys.
I’m aware this question has been asked a few times so I apologise in advance; I cannot find the relevant thread anywhere.
Ok, I’ve got green screen footage of a guy with wispy hair. It’s difficult to key around it with cutting into it.
I’ve read the best method is to create 2 separate masks;1 for body and the other for hair.How would I do this?
Is it a matter of duplicating the clip and masking the areas in question on each clip? Then deleting the areas not needed? Then merging the clips together?
I’m fairly new to AE so any help would be great!

Ravi,
I would pull a key of the actor on one layer, and a different one for his hair on another. Then I would pre-comp each layer separately and do a rough mask on each layer, combining the two. Then I would nest the comp and work with it as a single layer. This may not be the nicest way to operate, but this method has worked for me for many years.
