Keyframing Text
Normally I don’t have any problems keyframing text but! I got to add text labels to a video that’s got quite a bit of motion. Having problems with this one.
Tried Track Motion and Event Pan/Crop and the text is still all over the place and jumping around.
Normally with either TM or EP&C I can set the first keyframe and the last and the text follows the line between point A and B. I tried setting different keyframes from Linear, smooth. slow and hold and can’t seem to get what I want smoothly.
The train is turning and rocking but I need the text lable to stay in the middle of the track next to us without moving around.
Any suggestions? I put up a short 17 second clip plus a JPG of the timeline. Please take a look.

In the video I need the letter text to stay by tht light pole and the number to stay where I first put them.
I don’t know why I can’t seem to figure this one out. HA! After 5 years of doing this no less.

The easiest would be to use After Effect Track Motion. I know, not a very useful advice…

Sorry but I don’t have AE. Vegas is all I got to work with at this point. Normally I don’t have this problem…..see this clip 1m19s

With the ProType Titler, this is easy. Autosmoothing between keyframes will keep the jerkiness to a minimum.

Wow! Thanks. And my Vegas Pro 8 upgrade just arrived yesterday.
Using the ProType Titler, I suppose I’ll still need Track Motion or Event Pan/Crop, or does everything work differently in Pro 8?
I’ll get 8 installed today and bring the project into it under a different project name so I don’t loose my current work.

pan/crop will only mess you up. Do it all in the PTT tool.

Thanks. I’ll have to install it and look around. So the new PTT tool does it all now?
Don’t have training DVD’s for 8 yet.
