  • Keyframe velocity gets messed up if I move a keyframe

Posted by Blake Goulette on September 14, 2022 at 8:39 pm

Hi all, if I adjust the keyframe velocity of a keyframe, then move that keyframe, After Effects resets at least one of its points (in or out) to 0.01 or something, regardless of what I had it set at. Why? And is there anyway to prevent it?

While I’m here, is there any reason why I have to set separate properties differently? Meaning, if I want to set velocity for, say, position and rotation, I have to do property first, then the other.

    Thanks!

I think the keyframe velocity-influence model is confusing, hard to learn, hard to use, and generally unfriendly to artists.

My whole team uses Flow for easing:

It’s a much more intuitive interface, and you can easily read, store, share, and write keyframe easings across multiple properties at the same time.

That sounds amazing! Going to have to see if I can convince the powers-that-be that I need it! Thanks!
