Keyframe bizarre motion
What is the secret to controlling the bizarre and seemingly random movement of layers between 2 identical position keyframes?

Select the keyframes, right-click and select Keyframe interpolation. Is the Spatial Interpolation set to linear? No? There’s your problem. :o)
