    Hey everyone,

Im trying to get faster at editing, using the keyboard more and the mouse less.

I found the command to cut at the current time, and remapped it to the “x” key in my keyboard. I’ve also remapped ripple delete to be “shift+delete key”, which is also useful. The one thing im missing is:

    1. Select the clip im currently “standing” on in the timeline.

    And if at all possible,

    2. Select every clip after the one im “standing” on, including that one. Sort of like when you use the “select track” tool, but without having to move the mouse there. Just select everything starting from the clip im on.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

Nope, that just takes the timeline indicator to the next cut. I’d like premiere to actually select the clip im on, so i can delete it by pressing delete (remember, im avoiding the mouse) or lift it or whatever else i might do.

I’ve seen this done on other NLE’s. On avid it’s the “T” key, and i believe it’s called “Mark clip”. Not mark as in marker, but as in select. What you’d get if you clicked on a clip with the mouse. I do it on FCP as well. I think it’s the “x” key there.

I googled some more and from other threads on this:

…it seems it’s not doable in premiere. Too bad.

    Thanks either way!
