    Hey guys.

I’m having difficulties trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong here. There is, in the Keyboard Shortcuts Section, 3 shortcuts I’d like to use when I’m working in AE:

    1. Trim In point of a layer : Alt + [ (left bracket)
    2. Trim Out point of a layer : Alt + ] (right bracket)
    3. Move In point to beginning of composition : Alt + Home

I have Microsoft’s Wireless Comfort Keyboard and these shortcuts just seem impossible to do. For the first one (with the brackets), everytime I hit Alt + [ or ] it doesn’t do anything…I tried everything; Alt + Ctrl + [… Alt + Shift.. Alt + Ctrl + Shift…Nothing.

For the second one, I have a “Home” button on the left side of my keyboard, but it just won’t work and it, logically, opens my home page. Other then that, I see no “Home” button on my keyboard.

I mean, looking at Andrew Kramer’s tutorials, he does it so fast and easily..I feel like loosing precious time when I have to hit the “First Frame” button in the “Time Controls” Window and this gets me mad.

Thx a bunch for your time!

I suppose these shortcuts are used by another crappy “custom function key” on this particular keyboard. However, I’m certain it came with CD that contains a config program to change such assignments. Perhaps it’s already installed. Check your Control panel, perhaps the Advanced keyboard settingss will reveal it.

    Thank’s Mylenium.

It wasn’t in the Control Panel nor in the CD. I searched in the Help files, found nothing. This is frustrating, that keyboard (plus mouse) was expansive when I bought it! It was like >the< keyboard. I'll look again but seems like I'll have to change my keyboard. Lucky for me they gave me four (different) ones when I bought my HP. There has to be a way... Thx again. Ah, finally got it.

Just went to modify the Shortcuts file and voila. Precautions included.
