Does anybody else loathe the idea of moving photos or graphics around in FCP? This has got to be the clunkiest way of working I’ve ever seen. If I have more than one move to keyframe I leave FCP and go to After Effects or Motion. FCP is C-L-U-N-K-Y. Am I alone in this?

No, you’re not alone in this opinion on these boards.
But that doesn’t mean we necessarily ALL agree with you.

I frequently do these kind of moves quite easily in FCP with fine results.

I have no problems with it.

    Greg,

There is a plugin called PanZoomPro at lyric.com which will make your Ken Burns work about 5 times faster and WAAAY smoother WITH NO KEYFRAMES!!! Plus it has an on-board flicker filter.

It is absolutely the best way to go, much better than Moving Picture.

The best program for this is called “Moving Picture” by StageTools. It works as a FCP plugin or standalone application in both Apple and Windows machines.

    Christopher,

I tested MP against PanZoomPro, and the latter is by far superior. At least to my work style.
