Keeping Green in a Green Screen VFX shot?
So I’m showing off some stuff on a green screen. Problem is, some of that stuff, namely some magazine covers, have some green and yellow in them that keeps getting keyed out. How can I keep the green in those items without hand-animating a mask? Is that even possible?
For the record, I’m using CS3 and my keyer is Keylight 1.2. Thanks for the help.

What would the difference between a Hold-Out matte and a mask?

Since you are using keylight, you can also try the ‘inside mask’ feature. Create a mask on your clip around the items you don’t want to key. Set the mask mode to none. Then in the keylight inside mask setting select the mask.
