  • Keeping all your media linked for a reel long-term

Our first reel project pulled footage from our entire catalogue of multiple drives. This quickly created offline media and a mess.

My 2nd approach to keeping all the timeline footage linked was to duplicate all footage locally into the reel project file. Now that all the footage was local to the project, I had no offline media but the folder was too large and I quickly ran out of space.

My current attempt is to transcode the reel project so that all footage in the timeline is local. The question now is what happens when I re-edit the transcoded reel project ? Do I re-transcode the project again since I’ve added new footage ?

Would love to hear some workflow suggestions or best practices on this.

    thanks,
    Steve
