Keep FCPX from splitting clips when I capture from MiniDV?

February 27, 2021 at 8:17 pmHello all! I’m in the process of archiving all my MiniDV tapes before it’s impossible to capture them. I’m using FCPX as my capture device, which is working great, except for the fact that FCPX splits my miniDV tapes up every time it detects an edit in the footage. This is resulting in a dropped frame here or there, and unnecessarily dividing up my archives into small clips when I’m fine with them just being one big clip. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have never used FCPX for ingesting and thanks for the heads up.I don’t think Ill ever plan on it since I tend to use BMDs base app for that.
I use an IO device.

March 7, 2021 at 2:50 amHi Rod, did You manage to capture the tapes undivided?
I’m about to do the same job soon, just wondering how You solved it.
I was thinking about QT Pro, if that could be a solution.
