JVC HM700 & Final Cut
Hi,
Can anyone help?
* Yesterday I purchased the JVC GY HM700 camcorder,
* the .mov-based format it uses is not being recognized by FCP5,
* I cannot use FCP 7 on my PowerPc Mac,
* is the JVC format compattible with FCP 6?
* Do I need to install additional software?

You might be able to use this camera with FCP 6, but you really can’t expect to use the newest tapeless formats on a Mac that’s 5 or more years old. The world of digital video is simply moving too fast for that.

So it might work, but if it does, I’m pushing my luck?
Do others concur with mr. Schlissel? Is my PowerPc, 5 years of age, obsolete when dealing with these formats?
