    Hello to all,

I have maybe a simple to question to some but quite important for me at the moment.
I shot a short film, about 2 years ago with the JVC GY-HD 110 camera. I’ve captured and edited my film. Now its time to do some Color. I’ve heard that it would be better if i re-capture my material uncompressed through an SDi output. But doing some search on the web and asking a bit around i get controversial answers.
Some say that because i shot it on HDV its already compressed and the, through firewire, capture that i did is actually more or less the best i could get.
When others say that i have to capture it again uncompressed as the material will contain more information and therefore more tolerance to work on the color correction.

So i dont now what to believe really.
I would like the best possible quality out of my material.
Does uncompressed capture from a HDV tape make a difference or firewire should be enough?

    Any help appreciated.

    Chris
