    Hello,
    I am wondering if this deck is compatible with the Sony Z1U HDV camera in FCP 5.1? I am using both the JVC GY-HD 100 Camera and the Sony. I am wondering if there is a way to use the deck with the sony tapes as well.

    Nope. The HDV formats are completely different. Sony HDV tapes require a Sony HDV deck. This is one of the big problems with HDV…there is no standard.
