    Hi,

I did some shooting on the JVC GY HD100 in HDv 720 30P.
Now I want to capture the materiel wit FCPro 5.1 with the HDV 720 30P Preset Settings.
Control works fine, also setting IN OUT Points.
When I start Batch Capturing, FCPro does not capture the wohle sequence between IN-OUT.
It makes several small clips, named clipname-1, clipname-2 …
Start/Stop detection in the capture Window is OFF.
It creates a new clip, when the recording on the tape was stopped (no timecode prob).
The warse thing is, that you loose material. FCPro needs 2 sec until it starts recording of the new clip – while tape is running.
How can I switch this off?

You probably have broken timecode and you’re set up to Create New Clip when you hit broken time code.

That’s nothing to switch off, that wholly depends on your system speed. Since you’ve given us zero information on your system set-up, either in your Profile or here, I would suggest you go back and fill in your Profile with your complete system setup. You can view my Profile for an example.

    Hi Walter,

when I switch off “Create New Clip when you hit broken time code”
I get an Error and can’t capture anything.
    TechSpec:
    Powerbook G4 1 GHz, 768 MHz RAM, OSX 10.4.5, QT 7.1, FCPro 5.11, G-Raid FW 800 Harddisk,
Material comes from JVC GY HD101, recorded in HDV 720 30P on Sony DV Tape.

Are you capturing to your Powerbook or the G5? Powerbook might have issues with a FW400 connected HDV camera and the FW800 connected drives all on the same bus. Works fine with DV cameras, but I’ve never tried with an HDV camera.

I thought there was a thread on here somewhere about an issue with the JVC HDV camera and capture with FCP 5.1.

The 100 has a bug resulting in these seperate clips if you capture 720p via firewire. JVC has a free upgrade program to fix this. All currently shipping models have this fixed (model 100a). You could also use a capture card with analog component HD input like the ones from Blackmagic & AJA- I have had good resuts with this.
