    Needing a little help here…

After my department heavily invested in Apple FCP (I know, a nasty word here), AND, because the camera was so good, a bunch of JVC GY HD-110U cameras, THEN we find that there is a REAL problem digitizing footage from the JVC source due to FCP being very picky with what it wants to see as a time code break due to JVC’s closed GOP structure in HDV, 24P.

I’ve tried a gazillion work-arounds(including using a Black Magic Multibridge analog Y,Pb,Pr- but it still is glitchy with the time code, so I was chasing my tail) but now that Premiere is back out for Macs, I’m wondering if this is any better to get stuff in to edit- and how hard would it be using/translating these files to FCP.

I’ve been told that JVC/Premiere works slicker than snot on a PC, so this is why I’m here.

Right now we are dead in the water unless I use Dvhscap and Mpeg Streamclip to get the footage in, and that is a 3 step process..not very elegant, and no time code reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Scott
