like u modify a small portion of image in PS… how do i do tht in a video.. i mean a small section of my video i wanna modify it.. do i use layers to do tht..??? but then the position of that object changes as the movie goes further.. how do i go about doing this some easy way.. rather than frame to frame matching layer over it,,

any help in right direction would be appreciated.
    thanks a lot.

[lowpolymodel] “how do i go about doing this some easy way..”

Umm, do you want to become an artist or do you just want to flip switches? Sorry, some things only come the hard way and this is exactly what our profession is about – using knowledge, skills nad some intuition to produce effects. unless you have shot the subject you want to isolate separately, there is no way around masking it frame by frame and then applying effects to the masked layer.

yeah man… i know.. softwares dont come with “make it look good” button. so we all gotta go through using our brains..
i knew the answer to my question..however.. i was skeptical thinking i am the only dumb fool doing this way.. while others use some “technique”
thanks my friend for givin me a “wake up” call.. to my inner artist.
    cheers!!!

Sometimes, if the “object” you want to modify is basically the same color and different from the rest, you can isolate an area of a layer with a luma matte and apply effects just to that area. Andrew Kramer does this in his tut “Blemish Removal”.
