    Hey Guys!

I just finished this lyric video for rapper Chill E.B.

Let me know what you guys think! I tried to not make it too generic – I’ve seen too many boring lyric videos on YouTube…

I liked the look of the video. I think it would have worked great on a shorter (maybe 1 min) spot. The fact that it was repeated on a 4 and a half minute piece it made me get tired of it after a while. I would have created several “looks”, more diverse in the graphical approach and then mix them as the piece went on.

    And I agree.

Your timing is very good. But overall it lacked things to keep it interesting.

    Hey Ted,

Thanks for the feedback. I was pretty locked into the song – it had to be 4 and a half minutes (I would have liked it to be a bit shorter as well).

I tried to mix it up a bit with the backgrounds and whatnot, but see what you mean. I have another, similar, video that I am going to be starting on soon. I think it is closer to 5 minutes, so I’ll definitely keep that in mind!

I really enjoyed it. Great message so I thought the repetition worked well to drive the point home.

Just a suggestion for the planning and design part of the look of your next piece. Use Kuler to create a color scheme that is pleasing to the eye and mix those colors in the various designs.

Thanks Jim – that was definitely one point that I was going for. It being such a “punchy” song I definitely repeated a few things so that they would really drive home.

Thanks or the tip – I love Kuler, but have hardly used it lately.

What suggestions would you have for changing the existing color on Define Better?

Here’s a variation of what I had in mind:

You can build one for each color you now have as a background using the “Complementary” rule.
