I’ve been taking a sailing class, and I’m pretty sure that I can improve on the hull of the little dinghies I’ve been learning on. First, I want to model it in Cinema 4d. Does anyone know (I know that this topic barely fits in the forum) what kind of companies can take a model in some format and can form a physical fibergalss object? This boat would be about 15 feet long, so those little modelmakers wouldn’t do it.

hmmmm…. well, i know that anything fiberglass will be handmade, not machined (at least traditional fiberglass).
and prototyping machines generally have an upper size limit of a few feet.
so i guess you could model the boat in c4d, then send the model as ‘plans’ to a boatmaker.
    i’m just guessing here.

I don’t know about Cinema, but I do know that a lot of ship design work is done with Rhino. If I was you I’d post the question to the Rhino newsgroup.
