I’m having quit a strange bug with my light. Hope someone will be able to help me.

I have three spot parallel lights. They are not moving. I have a camera animation. Just to make it clear… The lights are not animated. Here’s the weird part. The inner light of each light are moving up (in direction of there lighting). After around 10 frames they jump back to there position. The base of the light is stable… it’s the inner light itselft that seems to move up.

May it be the hierachy that cause the problem? After a few test, the problem still there. But in any case here’s the hierarchy I used:

HyperNerbs > polygone object > spot parallel

With this hierarchy, it was easier for me in case I wanted to move the spot. Because it needs to move with his object. So the light is a child of the polygone object.

So, why is life so difficult with me. 🙂 Can you help me? Thanks in advance.

Sound like you accidentally keyframed something, but it’s hard to say without a file.

Like I said, there is no keyframe for the light. So I don’t understand. The only thing I found to “correct” the problem was to extand polygone object over the gap. I also tried with a completly new parallel spot. And the same problem appears.

I don’t know how to post the project. How can i do that? I don’t see any “add file” button.

the Cow doesn’t have an upload facility that I know of, you have to have a space of your own to put files and such.

Go at this address, I have post the project. The problem is at around frame 380.

After a bit of playing it looks like the Parallel Spot always has visibility that appears after what should be it’s start point as long as Edge Falloff is on (apparently the start gets a falloff too) Why that should look like it does at frame 380 and onward is very weird. I would send the file to Maxon and let them look at it. The light *is* animated by the way, it has rotation animation. I wouldn’t build it that way, the light should have no animation only the base since the light is a child and wouldn’t move if the base does not.

First, thank you for the help. Second, you are right about the fact that the light “is” animated… but not at this time of the timeline. Also, I have the same problem with the two other on the side. You don’t see the problem because the polygones are hiding the space beetween the light and the polygone object. And those lights don’t have any keyframe.

The problem is probably coming from the fact that the light is a child of the polygone object. I really can’t see…

    Thanks again!
