Yar, this drives me completely nuts. There really should be a pref for this. Media 100 left you at the start of your edit because that’s what their tests showed most people needed.

Anyway, the only way I know of is to hit previous edit which is the colon/semicolon key :;.
That doesn’t always give you want you want, though, because of those nasty autoselect thingies.

Yes, I’m a previous Media 100 user myself (since version 2). I guess the FCP logic is that once you’ve placed an edit FCP takes you to the next edit insert point, ready for the next insert. But how many editors never have to adjust an edit before moving on? FCP users don’t need to fine cut I guess!

Anyway – tried the previous edit command but despite de-selecting all the autoselect thingies, previous edit insists on jumping through every one of my 16 tracks of audio before eventually returning to the video in point.

Multicamera function is great though! Using it for the first time today. It’s FAB.

How about placing a mark in the timeline before inserting, then go to previous mark? Would that do what you want?
