    Hi all,

This is doing my head in.

Basically this is 5D footage that has been converted to ProRes 422 which we imported into a 1980×1080 sequence (also the native resolution).

Doing a simple export as QT movie is giving a video with flickering brightness at random points.

Interestingly if we play the video using MPEG streamclip, this isn’t visible so is this a QT problem?

Reading around I stumbled upon people recommending changing Video Processing sequence settings to RGB – which I have also tried (that probably makes you lose the DSLR quality?)

    Workflow is as follows:

    Resolution: 1980×1080 at 25 fps
Video Processing – currently at YUV (render quality – BEST, motion at BEST)
Export to QT setting – Current

Of course, the sequence is fully rendered before the export.

Any help would be most helpful. 🙂

    Regards

Viewing with QTX or QT 7? QTX pretty much sucks.

    Hi Shane,

    I’ve got the latest QT10.1 🙁

    Is that the reason why?

Weirdly enough, when I chose QT conversion and did a H.264 for online streaming, it came out ok. But That doesn’t give me the raw big file I needed for DVDs.

Is there no fix, or do you suggest downgrading the player?

It’s on the OS disks too…OPTIONAL installs.

Know that your DVDs will be fine…well, slight color shift if you are going HD to SD DVD. QT10 just doesn’t do things right. And even with QT7, you need to enable FCP color compatibility in the preferences.

    Brilliant, Shane and Dave.

I will install QT7 and see if this helps and update with how things go.

    Regards.
