I’ve scoured the forum in attempts to understand if what I’m seeing is a visual illusion and if there’s anything I can do to remedy it.

I’m just taking a hi-res still and moving it right to left using linear keyframes. I’ve added an expression that rounds it’s position on every frame to be a whole number. I’ve tweaked shutter settings. I’ve added motion blur. I’ve tried 23.976, 29.97, 59.94, progressive, interlaced. I’ve tried burning to dvd (as this is the final delivery format). I’ve tried compressing to h.264 to thwart HDD speeds. Nothing has helped. I’ve built an entire reel that showcases work this way and everyone likes it so I’d hate to have to start over and abandon this move.

    HELP? Please?

My guess maybe you are keyframing every 30 frames when you make your compression output. Try keyframing every frame and see.

If motion blur doesn’t help, render an uncompressed version interlaced and then compress de-interlacing (progressive).

should the uncompressed interlaced output have blur?

unfortunately this didn’t help 🙁 but it was a good suggestion and one that I had not tried.

I found it useful to ad a .3 to .5 blur on animated stills (gaussian or reduce interlace flicker)
