afternoon gentlemen (well it is here!),

so, am considering either nikon d50 or olympus e500 (if anyone has opinions about either camera, i’d like to hear/read them please).

obviously both cameras will give out large size jpg’s, which is what i want, but if i’m then going to be ‘playing’ with them in vegas – pan/crop moves, colour correction, blur, etc., would i be better off converting them to png, or is png only really useful for transparency?

    as ever, thanks,

    leslie

With png you have much more options and better compatibility.

I always use png since I have on occasions picked up stuttering on jpeg images

Better picture quality with png and filesizes around the same or way smaller than jpeg.

    PNG is a great format.
