    Were they created on a PC.

    Maybe you can open them in Photoshop and make sure they are in the RGB color space and not CMYK.

    from there you can resave as tiff for example.

    they were made from a camera. I don’t have photoshop but i’ll try your suggestion.

    Paolo,

    As a side note. Using any image more than 72 dpi is a waste of FCP resources. The video image is no more than 72 dpi so it is wise to stay in that resolution as FCP will work MUCH faster.

    you can increase the FRAME size (up to 4000×4000) if you want to pan and zoom, but upping the resolution is ony wasting time.
