i have two vob files from a DVD. i changed their endings to .mpg. i put them on the timeline and now i want to join them to one movie so the quality will not be reduced and i can burn it in encore without transcoding. what are the best premiere settings to do so?…all i need is “as in as out”

I would do it all in Encore. Just assign chapter points in Encore. Vob1_… Chapter 1, VOB2_… Chapter 2, or use the Encore timeline, but I always found that it’s sketchy when it comes to joining files.

If you need to modify the files at all other than their length (which you can also do in Encore), you’ll have to use Premiere and you will have to re-compress them.

    Cheers,
