    Hello,

I’ve been scratching my head over this and wanted to ask people here for advice.

I would like to ‘join’ several .m2v files together so that I can drop them into a single timeline; don’t want to mess with ‘end actions’ because my luck with different hardware players has proved to be a problem, it seems that my discs will execute end actions correctly on some hardware, but not on others.

Tried joining them with a program I found online called AVI MPEG RM WMV Joiner (https://www.boilsoft.com/avi-mpeg-rm-joiner.html) , they seemd to join correctly, I can play them back in Encore on the timeline and test it in the ‘virtual dvd player’ (not sure what its real name is), but as soon as I try to build a disc or folder, Encore generates an error as soon as it meets the point in the joined m2v file where the first and second clip were merged. The build fails and I’m stuck having to reassemble everything from scratch in Premiere.

    1. Has anyone experienced this problem, and what can be done to fix or workaround it?
    2. Are there other joiner programs out there that people have had experience with and like? I’m not looking for ‘you can go to tucows.com and type ‘mpeg joiner’ in the search engine’, I’m looking for experience and results.
    3. Should I quit complaining and just rebuild my projects in Premiere?

    Take care,

    Nick

    Hi,

The best setup would be to go to https://www.mainconcept.com/mpeg_pro.shtml and get the MPEG Pro Plugin for Premiere Pro this will solve all your problems with jioning your m2v files

    Hey,

Michael, thank you for your response. I’m familiar with Main Concept as they provide some encoding power to Premiere. I downloaded the demo and tried it…very nice to see that I can bring in .m2v or .mpg files and play them back in real-time and edit them. However, when I brought in some .m2v files to export as a single .m2v, it still takes time (40 minutes for a 30 minute timeline, PIV 2.5ghz) to export. While I understand that this is pretty amazing, the program previosly mentioned managed to join the files in a matter of minutes. Granted, it didn’t work in Encore, but I can’t help but wonder if there is a faster way to join .m2v files from Premier (or another app) and have them work in Encore.

    Take care,

    Nick

    Have you tried TMPEnc/MPEG Tools?
