    Hey Trev,

Seems like you’re cranking away – good on you…

The easiest way to ensure you don’t muck clips up is to lock the vision tracks from being edited – look for the little padlock icon next to the track name. Click it and it will lock that track from changes.

Another option would be to select all the vision on the timeline and go Sequence Menu > Nest Items. This will collapse all your edits into one long continuous “submaster”. Be careful not to have any audio selected or it will nest that too. You will still be able to move that on the track though, so maybe wanna lock that anyway. You can still access the actual edits in the nest by double-clicking the nest on the timeline.

A third option would be to do a video mixdown – export the entire cut as a Quicktime, import it back in and lay it back up against your audio in the sequence.

Whatever option you take, MAKE SURE YOU DUPLICATE YOUR SEQUENCE BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING! Work on a copy before you do anything drastic 🙂

    I hope this helps, Trev.
